Check out the new video for Chad’s latest single! I put a ton of keys on this one, wah clav, wurlitzer, b3, moog bass, and Spencer Cheyne added some badass drum programming. It’s a fun song and I am pretty sure a couple of bottles of Malbec may have perished in the process. Good times!
This song was tracked early one morning at MCC Studios in Calgary. Live off the floor, the illustrious Russell Broom on guitar, Chris Byrne on bass who is such a badass and Chad Melchert on drums…he’s ok. 🙂 I don’t think I had even finished my Grande Americano by the time this was done. I love tracking with great musicians! Turned out great. Congrats Candice on your new single!
Had a lot of fun playing Piano and Hammond Organ on Gord Bamford’s latest release “Country Junkie”.
I first met Gord on the George Canyon Somebody Wrote Love Tour in 2006. I can’t believe how many huge radio hits he has had since then, it was an honour to be asked to play on this album!
Recently I had the pleasure of playing on Chad Brownlee’s new single “Fallin’ Over You”. Mitch Merret sent me the song from Vancouver and I sent him back seven tracks of arpeggiated synth, delayed Wurlitzer, B3, Moog, Omnisphere, etc. and he used EVERYTHING! Check it out!
In between sets at the Petroleum Club in Calgary, me and George’s band went to MCC Recording Studio and cut this live off the floor in two hours! George wanted to go for an 80’s Crowded House feel. I have played on most of George’s singles and this is by far one of my all time favourites. On this track I played my 1963 Hammond A100 organ which is the s#@t!
I love this song and I love The Road Hammers! The sound I used on this is a distorted Wurlitzer piano through a wah pedal. Too much fun!
